The Week Ahead For April 22nd to 26th: Earnings, Earning & More Earnings
The NASDAQ 100 was higher as were the S&P 100 and Russell 2000 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was lower again.
1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. The BOJ is out with its latest release on Thursday.
2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week and next include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and jobless claims as well as existing home sales, new home sales, durable good and Q1 GDP.
3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases this upcoming week include KMB HAL PG VZ MSFT FB AMZN INTC XOM CVX.
Monday, April 22
March Existing Home Sales are due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and are expected to fall to 5.37 from 5.51 million.
Many markets overseas are closed for Easter observances including Germany, Hong Kong and the U.K.
Tesla (TSLA) holds its investor day and is a Type 4 Long Squeeze.
Tuesday, April 23
March New Home Sales are due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and expected to fall to 646,000 from 667,000.
Wednesday, April 24
No events of note.
Thursday, April 25
March Durable Goods Orders are due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.9% from -1.6%.
The Bank of Japan (BOJ) is out with its latest monetary policy update.
The latest NYSE and NASDAQ Short Interest Update is released after the close of trading and goes through settlement date of April 15th. During the collection period, the S&P 500 rose 2.96%.
Friday, April 26
Q1 GDP (Advance Estimate) is expected to fall to 1.9% from 2.2%.
