Former Republican political strategist and one of the founders of the Lincoln Project Steve Schmidt remains a centrist leaning conservative but has found himself siding with liberals and principled conservatives. He sways towards the left when it comes to denouncing Trumpism as an existential threat to the democracy of the United States.
President Trump, during the past four years in office, has repeatedly accused the new media of being “enemies of the people,” a tired old strategy used by fascists Franco, Mussolini, Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong, and every too bit fascist to ever take the public stage in an effort to strip their countries of law and order, to subjugate its population to the cruelty of Totalitarianism.
Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Adolph Hitler, Nicolas Maduro, Kim Jong-un and a long list of tyrants have described themselves as socialists but were, in fact, totalitarians. Consider the definition of Totalitarianism…
Totalitarianism is a concept for a form of government or political system that prohibits opposition parties, restricts individual opposition to the state and its claims, and exercises an extremely high degree of control over public and private life. It is regarded as the most extreme and complete form of authoritarianism. In totalitarian states, autocrats have often held political power who employ all-encompassing campaigns in which state-controlled mass media broadcast propaganda.
The soon-to-be-former POTUS45 Donald J. Trump has used Americans’ understanding between socialism, communism and American capitalism to mislead his followers and seed the tyranny of Totalitarianism here in the United States. His manipulation and twisting of the truth to achieve his endgame of greater personal power drove this politically controlled mob into committing an act of insurrection on his behalf.
Steve Schmidt warns of the danger of fascism. Fascism is a reprehensible political ideology that is always imposed by totalitarian dictators. It at a time came when millions of Americans are still in shock over the bloody January 6, 2021 insurrection that leads to the U.S. Capitol Building’s storming.
Washington, D.C. is on high alert as it prepares for the Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden on January 20. As preparations are taking place in the shadow of the bloody January 6, 2021 insurrection, the truth has become clear about the danger Trump’s stealth fascist political movement has finally become crystal clear. Trump and his movement is a white supremacist fascist monster whose sole purpose is to install a white supremacist totalitarian nightmare that threatens our democratic republic’s very existence.
No matter how many times Trump and his followers scream socialist – they are fascists that would destroy our democracy given a chance.
This is something that Steve Schmidt had recognized all the way back to 2016 when he first became part of the “Never Trump Movement.”
This is why when Steve Schmidt appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” early Friday morning, he stressed that the U.S. is at a crossroads and must choose constitutional democracy over fascism and authoritarianism.
It’s why he and other true patriots have praised Rep. Liz Cheney, a right-wing Republican and the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. Chaney has been accused of having autocratic leanings, supporting President Donald Trump’s impeachment, and criticizing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy as a coward for lacking the courage to repudiate Trumpism and his fascist autocratic ideology thoroughly.
“Before we can talk about reconciliation, we have to talk about accountability,” Schmidt told “Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough — a former GOP congressman and fellow Never Trump conservative. Scarborough has described Trump as a “fascist,” “want to be dictator” many times over the past four years.
This morning Schmidt said the inescapable reality was validated that President Donald J. Trump was a “fascist” who “incited violence against the people of the United States and is responsible for the insurrection at our nations’ Capitol by Trump’s seditious white supremacist mob on January 6.
As Schmidt put it and warned… the “fascist” movement that Trump is promoting won’t be going away after Trump leaves office on January 20…
“This threat must be crushed. It must be annihilated. This threat must be met head-on…. We are in for a long fight…. It will last years.”
