The Week Ahead For The First Full Week Of June

1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. Monday sees Federal Reserve Boston President Eric Rosengren speak on a panel from Helsinki on quantitative easing.Also, on Monday Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen speaks. Thursday sees ECB President Mario Draghi speak.

2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales,oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and Michigan Sentiment.

3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases include CASY QUNR VRX MIK CTRP BFB SJM HRB.

Monday, June 6

Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen makes a speech at the World Affairs Council in Philadelphia at 12:30 p.m. EDT, a week before the next Federal Reserve meeting.

Tuesday, June 7

President Obama visits with Indian President Narendra Modi.

Primaries are held in California, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota and a caucus in North Dakota.

Overnight China Trade Data is due to be released.

Wednesday, June 8

No events of note.

Thursday, June 9

Markets are closed in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi speaks to the Brussels Economic Forum.

The latest short interest data from NYSE and NASDAQ is due out after the close for data through May 31st settlement.

Friday, June 10

June Michigan Sentiment is due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 94.5 from 94.7.

Markets are closed in China and Taiwan.

At 12:00 p.m. EDT, the latest USDA WASDE Report on crop progress is due out.
