The Week Ahead For November 11th to 15th

The NASDAQ 100 was higher for the week as well as the Russell 2000, Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 100.
1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. Tuesday sees President Trump give a lunch time speech to the Economic Club of New York. Wednesday sees Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell begin two days of testimony on the Hill.
2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week and next include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and jobless claims as well as NFIB Small Business Optimism Index, CPI, PPI and Retail Sales.
3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases this upcoming week include FNV BGNE TSN ROK CSCO NTAP.
Monday, November 11
The latest NYSE and NASDAQ Short Interest is due out after the close through settlement of October 31st.
Alibaba (BABA) holds Singles Day. The stock is no Type currently.
The U.S. Bond market is closed for Veteran’s Day.
Tuesday, November 12
October NFIB Small Business Optimism Index is due out at 6:00 a.m. EDT and came in at 101.80 for September.
President Trump delivers a speech to the Economic Club of New York at 12:00 p.m. EDT.
Wednesday, November 13
October CPI is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and came in at 0% last month and is expected to come in at 0.3%.
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell begins two days of testimony on The Hill, First, the House on Wednesday and then the Senate on Thursday. Thursday, November 14
October PPI is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to come in at 0.3% from -0.3%.
Friday, November 15
October Retail Sales is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to improve to 0.2% from -0.3%.
