The Week Ahead For May 9th to 13th
All stock indexes fell again this past week across the board.
1. Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. The key issue remains how the Russian invasion of Ukraine progresses as the Russians reattack Eastern Ukraine and the Donbas region while threatening nuclear war.
2. Economic Releases. Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and NFIB Small Business Optimism, CPI, Treasury Budget, PPI and University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment.
3. Earning Releases. Notable releases this upcoming week include DUK SPG OXY SYY DIS MFC BABA MSI NICE AQN.

Tuesday, May 10
April NFIB Small Business Optimism Index is due out at 6:00 a.m. EDT and came in last month at 93.2.
Wednesday, May 11
April CPI is due out at 8:30 p.m. EDT and are expected to drop to 0.2% from 1.20%.
April Treasury Budget is due out at 2:00 p.m. EDT and came in last month at $-192.7 billion.
Thursday, May 12
April PPI is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to come in at 0.6% from 1.0%.
Friday, May 13
May University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment (Prelim) is due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 63.5 from 65.20.
