The Week Ahead For July 25th-29th
1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events.
Monday sees the Democratic National Convention begin in Philadelphia. Secretary of State Kerry travels to the ASEAN summit on Monday to meet with many foreign ministers.
Tuesday sees the FOMC begin a two day meeting that concludes on Wednesday with a rate announcement.
Wednesday sees President Obama speak that the Democratic National Convention.
Thursday sees the Hillary Clinton accept the Democratic nomination.
Friday sees The Bank of Japan conclude its latest meeting and announce its latest interest rate decision. Friday also sees Federal Reserve San Francisco President John Williams speak as will Federal Reserve Dallas President Rob Kaplan.
2.Economic Releases.
Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and consumer confidence, new home sales, durable goods, Q2 GDP and Michigan Sentiment.
3.Earnings Releases.
Notable releases include GILD TXN AAPL VZ FB KO GOOGL AMZN XOM BUD.
