The Week Ahead

Stock indexes fell this past week across the board.
1. Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. The key issue remains how the Russian invasion of Ukraine plays out and whether neutrality is enough face saving for Russian President Putin to end his attack. Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Lael Brainard speaks on Tuesday.
2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and CPI, Treasury Budget, PPI, Retail Sales and University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment.
3.Earning Releases. Notable releases this upcoming week include KMX JPM BLK FAST FRC DAL TSM UNH WFC MS GS C USB.
Monday, April 11
The latest NYSE and NASDAQ Short Interest is due out after the close for the period of March 11th through March 29th. During this period, the S&P 500 rose 10.16%.
U.S. Treasury holds a 2 year auction at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
Tuesday, April 12
March CPI is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to grow to 1.2% from 0.8% last month.
Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Lael Brainard speaks at 12:10 p.m. EDT.
U.S. Treasury holds a 10 year auction at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
March Treasury Budget is due out at 2:00 p.m. EDT and last month came in at $216,5 billion.
Wednesday, April 13
March PPI is due out at 8:30 p.m. EDT and is expected to climb to 1.2% from 0.8% last month.
Thursday, April 14
March Retail Sales is due out at 3:00 p.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.6% from 0.3%.
April University of Michigan Sentiment Consumer Sentiment is due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 58.8 from 59.40.
Friday, April 15
Markets are closed from Good Friday.
