The Two Words That Can Potentially Doom Trump’s Presidency

MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch an internationally recognized branding expect and longtime friend of Donald Trump points out that it’s not what you say but how you say it. If the Democrats use the term “criminal investigation(s)” instead of “impeachment” Trump’s chances of political survival will dramatically reduced.

The “Morning Joe” contributor, former advertising executive and host of Saturday Night Politics suggested this morning that Democrats should stop using the word “impeachment,” and shift to they’re investigating Trump’s “criminal activity.” Deutsch went on to say...

“We know Trump broke the law. Here’s the answer, you take it from a binary choice of two lanes, (and) you create a third lane. You take the word impeachment, and you change it to criminal activity.”

“We are going to initiate and continue the ongoing Trump criminal investigations — Trump criminal, Trump criminal investigations,” Deutsch said. “Take the word impeachment away — it's a losing word; it’s a 30-year-old word that does not help us. Change the discussion. Even Trump says it’s a disgusting word. It’s a disgusting word for Democrats.”

Deutsch’s suggestion drew mixed reactions from the other panelists, but Republican strategist Susan Del Percio had the most biting criticism…

“Here is a problem, though, where are they going to do with it, Donny?” she said. “At the end of the day, it’s either impeachment or not. You can brand it the way you want, but there is a constitutional responsibility at stake, and a lot of Americans are okay with seeing them step up and fight for what’s right.”

She’s wrong, and Deutsch is 100% on target because most people who support the president when interviewed believe the President hasn’t committed any crimes. They’re eating up Trump’s, and Fox opinion shows insistence that the Mueller investigation found no crimes were committed. Labeling an impeachment hearing as a criminal investigation based on the facts determines by the Special Councilor could be a way to kick the legs out from under Trump, Barr, and Mnuchin and allow their crimes to be exposed leading to either their impeachment or resignations. The only question is – are the Democrats listening?
