Reddit Could Drive BlackBerry Shares Over $25 A Share Again

The Reddit stock bulletin boards have proven they can light a fire under virtually any stock. One stock drawing attention from this social media phenomenon has been BlackBerry (BB: NYSE). Yet, unlike AMC and GameStop, the current valuation of BB is still very reasonable and, therefore, worth consideration.

When most investors think of Blackberry (BB: NYSE), they think of it as a phone manufacturer, but the fact is this international company has been transformed into a cutting edge next-generation intelligent security software and services technology provider that offers hundreds of solutions in the key area of cybersecurity, safety, and data privacy; and endpoint security management, encryption, and embedded systems.

The ransom attacks from Russia and affecting private businesses and critical government infrastructure will help Blackberry grow its business dramatically over the next several years.

BlackBerry Limited provides enterprises and governments worldwide the ability to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to intercept, nullify and prevent hackers from penetrating its Spark software platform. Yet, its unique platform can enable enterprise and independent software vendor developers to integrate the security features sold by BlackBerry into their mobile and web applications. Some of the critical areas of focus to prevent hacking will be driverless cars, jet navigation. Blackberry is also focused on its BlackBerry Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including BlackBerry QNX, BlackBerry Certicom, BlackBerry Radar, BlackBerry Jarvis, BlackBerry AtHoc, BlackBerry Alert, SecuSUITE, and other IoT applications.

Although Blackberry’s revival and evolution from being a communications company into a security software and services technology company have been taking place since February 28, 2021, it owns approximately 38,000 worldwide patents and applications. The company has a partnership with the University of Windsor to develop and deliver a cybersecurity curriculum for the university’s graduate master’s program in applied computing; and an agreement with Amazon Web Services, Inc. to develop and market BlackBerry’s IVY, an intelligent vehicle data platform.

The company recently spiked in price to $28.77 a share interday on January 27, 2021, and closed at over $25 a share. The sudden run-up was driven by a Reddit social media phenomenon that shows no sign of letting up. Our Erlanger Chart Room Charts show that BB is in a position for another run-up to $25 a share or more; we have recommended it in our investment newsletter
