President Donald Trump has no respect for the science needed to stop the epidemic that is killing one American every minute on average and threatens to infect 10 million Americans and kill more than 250,000 by November 3, 2020, Election Day.
Trump will not tolerate the truth even if it means saving hundreds of thousands of American lives or prevents millions of Americans from falling ill.
Trump lashed out at his coronavirus response coordinator Deborah Birx after she sounded a grim warning about the pandemic's new surge during an interview on CNN during a Sunday interview, calling her remarks "pathetic."
Trump, was so angered by what he perceived to be overly pessimistic media coverage of his handling of the pandemic, tweeted Monday that Dr. Birx had given into pressure to sound negative.
"Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!"
On Sunday, Dr. Birx told CNN that the United States "a new phase" of the coronavirus epidemic. Saying that in this new phase…
"It is extraordinarily widespread, to everybody who lives in a rural area, you are not immune or protected from this virus."
Trump tweeted that Dr. Birx's warning was issued only after she was attacked by the Democratic speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi, other Democrats, Independents, and WallStreetRebel.com have gone after Dr. Birx, a veteran public health expert, over her willingness to tailor her messages to win approval from Trump without concern over the health danger created by these statements.
Pelosi said on ABC television…
“I think the president is spreading disinformation about the virus, and she's his appointee,” Pelosi said on ABC’s “This Week.” “I don't have confidence, no.”
On Sunday, the White House sprang to Birx's defense. Alyssa Farah, director of strategic communications, tweeted…
"It is deeply irresponsible of Speaker Pelosi to repeatedly try to undermine & create public distrust in Dr. Birx, the top public health professional on the coronavirus task force,"
"It's also just wrong. Period. Hard stop."
Trump, however, changed tack from defending Dr. Birx to attacking her with his Monday tweet…
"So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr. Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combating the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics. To counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!"
As the reopening of America’s schools approaches without the needed precautions in place, Dr. Birx and Dr. Anthony Fauci are facing a decision to speak up and stop in-person school openings from taking place. If not, allow potentially millions of children and school employees to risk infection and death.
Doctor Anthony Fauci has already come under frequent fire by President Trump for speaking out and rejecting his, and the White House lies about the epidemic.
While pushing lies about the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine and widespread testing effectiveness and availability President Trump has called Fauci an "alarmist." Trump also suggested Fauci is misleading the public as recently as last week when he also complained it was unfair that the doctor's public approval ratings are so much higher than his own.
