One of the Trump’s Jan 6 Patriots Just Opened Fire on Sheriff’s Deputies

When Sheriff’s deputies were sent to do a welfare check on January 6, 2021, Nathan Donald Pelham 40, of Greenville, Texas, after he had been told he was being charged by the Department of Justice with participating in the storming of Capitol, opened fire on the Sheriff’s Deputies.

While Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and other radical gun nuts in Congress and State governments are busy worrying about the safety and security of January 6, 2021 insurrectionists calling for the defunding of the FBI and Justice Department. Nathan Donald Pelham 40, of Greenville, Texas who learned he would be charged for his part in the storming of the Capitol on Jnauray 6, 2021, opened fire on the police officers sent to check on his welfare.

Pelham despite his firing on the Sherriff's deputies waseventually taken into custody after a standoff that lasted nearly three hours. He now faces the federal misdominor charges he was informed of on April 12th by the FBI, he now faces felony charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm in connection and firing upon law enforcement, two very serious crimes that will likely land him in jail for an extended prison sentence. Unless of course Texas governor Greg Abbot gives him a pardon.

No injuries were reported in connection with the Pelham firing at Sherriff's Deputies. The shooting incident is among many in recent days sweeping through the country.

Pelham had been told by an FBI agent he had been charged with four misdemeanor counts in connection with the attack on the Capitol and was told just hours before the shooting he had to surrender by April 17.But later in the day, the local sheriff’s office got a call from one of Pelham's relatives who expressed concern about his mental state of mind and informed the Greenville, Texas Sherriff that he had a gun.

When Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Pelham’s home, they found it dark and lit it with lights from their patrol car. Shortly afterward, Pelham's daughter left the house and was taken into a police car, before sheriff’s deputies heard gunshots and took cover.

“About an hour later, at approximately 9:38 p.m., Mr. Pelham – a previously convicted felon – walked onto the porch and allegedly fired towards several deputies, who could be heard on body-worn camera video noting bullets ‘whiz’ by them,” the DOJ said.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and other far-right Republican politicians are pushing for fewer gun laws and more guns without permits or background checks. The rollback of gun laws in Texas, Florida, and other red states has gun safety advocates warning that the epidemic of gun violence and mass shootings will leap exponentially before the 2024 election.
