How Does The S&P 500 Look Technically?

Our sister publication each week publishes our review of the S&P 500 via SPY. It is in good shape. Here is our update that appeared in week's Morning Briefing on Superstock Investor. We thought you would enjoy.

If this interests you, then you might want to sign up to receive. Our Morning Matter's Portfolio started in 2008 is up 501.27 run as a 12 stock portfolio. This year through today it is up 12.50%. Winners in the portfolio include Walt Disney (DIS), AT&T (T) and Micron Technologies (MU) of note.

The Weekly Displaced Moving Average (DMA) Channel (Yellow Band) sees the current price still above the channel. As such, bias remains positive from pullback.

Second, the Erlanger Volume Swing (EVS) is at 25.03 from 22.43. Above 0 is good and below 0 is bad. The current action is improving nicely.

Third, the Erlanger Crossover Spread (EC) Spread is at 41.18 from 58.39 which remains strong but has paused.

Last, the Erlanger Trend Direction (ETD) remains at uptrend.

So what is an investor to do here? We would recommend to stay with strong stocks and start to build a shopping list of new names.

Positioning in our Morning Matters Portfolio off this chart and several other indicators find cash is at 33% but we will add more in the next couple of weeks to bring to 16%.
