Federal Reserve Open Market Committee Leaves Rates Unchanged, April Rate Increase Possible

At 2:00 p.m. EDT, the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) did what the market expected and did not raise rates. The odds of that were 4%. In addition, they moved to only two rate increases this year from four rate increases.

That said, April is still on the table to raise interest rates. Also, the U.S. Dollar has fallen this afternoon by almost -1%.

The FOMC noted they remain "data dependent" but if that was the case rates would have been raised.

Clearly, the FOMC is freaked out by international markets and they have entered the "Currency Wars" with other Central Banks.
