The Week Ahead For November 13-17
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 100 and NASDAQ 100 were lower for the week. The Russell 2000 was lower as well.

1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. Monday sees President Trump attends the U.S. Asean Summit in the Philippines. Tuesday sees Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen, European Central Bank (ECB) Head Mario Draghi and Bank of Japan Haruhiko Kuroda attend the European Central Bank Conference (ECB). Tuesday also sees Federal Reserve Chicago President Charles Evans speak at the same conference and Federal Reserve St. Louis President James Bullard speaks on the economy and monetary policy. Wednesday sees Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visit Myanmar. Thursday Federal Reserve Dallas President Robert Kaplan participates in a Q&A.

2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications, jobless claims and PPI, CPI, retail sales, industrial production and housing starts.

3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases include JD TSN HD TJX CSCO NTES WMT AMAT FL ANF.

Monday, November 13

President Trump attends the U.S. Asean Summit in the Philippines.

General Electric (GE) holds their investment meeting and is a Type 4 Long Squeeze.

Tuesday, November 14

Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen, European Central Bank (ECB) Head Mario Draghi and Bank of Japan Haruhiko Kuroda attend the European Central Bank Conference (ECB).

October PPI is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 0.2% from 0.4%.

Wednesday, November 15

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visits Myanmar.

October CPI is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.2% from 0.1%.

October Retail Sales is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to a rise of 0.1% from 1.6%.

Thursday, November 16

October Industrial Production is due out at 9:15 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.5% from 0.3%.

Friday, November 17

October Michigan Sentiment is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to come in at 1,198,000 from 1,127,000.
